It’s been just over a year since a well documented campaign began in the United States regarding the banning of certain books for young folk - books deemed “offensive” by some politicians intent on pedalling paranoia under the guise of “saving the children”.
The campaign has seen titles stripped from shelves that include (but are not limited to) LGBTIQA+, race and gender related storylines - in other words - the usual ‘de rigeur’ topics that get some percentage of the population all hot and bothered. Want my take? Read on.
